Messages
There are two main types of messages that can be sent in PCS CoreNexa: Chat and SMS.
Important Note: All messaging traffic from PCS to its upstream providers is considered A2P and must comply with A2P/10DLC carrier policies, including the requirement to register a Messaging Brand and Campaign.
All SMS delivery messaging applications such as CoreNexa (browser and desktop app), CoreNexa mobile, and Contact Center Professional include the requirement to become compliant before they are allowed to send messages.
Chat
Chats can be one-on-one or a group chat. You can see all your chat entries upon clicking Chat in the main menu. Clicking on an entry will show the participants in the chat at the top and below that the message history for the chat.
To start a chat conversation:

- Click on the New Message button.

- Add the contact(s) in the To: field.
- Type in your message, attach file(s), and/or add emoticons.
- Press the Send button when done.

Note that you can’t add other contacts to the chat once you have move away from the To: field entry.
When hovering your mouse over a chat entry a More Actions button will become visible that when clicked will allow the user to mute notifications, close the chat, export the chat history, and mark the chat as read. The option to Call the person you are chatting with in the More Actions menu is available to one-on-one chats only.

SMS
SMS (Text) messages just like chats can be one-on-one or in a group. All your SMS conversations can be seen when you click on SMS in the main menu.
Note that SMS in the main menu is only available when the SMS feature has been turned on for your user.
Creating SMS messages just like chats start with the New Message

button from the SMS screen. Add in the recipient(s) and the message then press the Send button.
A More Actions menu similar to chats is also available for SMS.

Chat and SMS Message Retention
Chat and SMS conversations are closed if there has been no activity after a set number of days. The content is not deleted but closing them helps keep the client operating efficiently. To set the number of days used to determine if the conversation will be closed is by:
- Click on your user’s avatar icon in the upper left area of the CoreNexa Desktop app.
- Click on Settings from the menu that appears.

- In the Settings menu click on Chat & SMS and edit the number of days of inactivity to set before a conversation is closed.
